At the height of the Iranian democracy movement against the Islamic Republic’s regime, Dr. Badiozamani served as an advisor to the CNN’s Iran Desk. He also provided instant analysis and commentary on CNN International and CNN Headline News.
Throughout the last three decades he has also had numerous appearances on NBC, MSNBC, Fox, ABC, Voice of America, BBC, Radio South Africa and various television channels broadcasting to Iran. He has also been interviewed/mentioned in The Washington Post, USA Today, Newsweek and Los the Angeles Times. His latest interview was published by the German Die Welt in January 2010.
Badi Badiozamani’s expertise on Iran includes, but is not limited to, Iranian politics, society and the Iranian legal system as well as Iranian and Middle Eastern culture. He has written about Iran for about 30 years and has an extensive network of contacts inside the country. He is the author of Iran & America: Rekindling A Love Lost.

Dr. Badiozamani’s multi-faceted expertise has been utilized by various US government entities such as the Department of Defence, Department of State, Federal Court as well as non-governmental entities throughout the world including Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, Germany, Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan.
He is the first Iranian-American in history to run for Governor in California.
Also active in local politics, he was appointed by the Governor to the State of California’s Joint Venture Advisory Board and served on the City of San Diego’s Small Business Advisory Board for six years. Appointed by the Mayor, he also served as the vice-chair of the International Affairs Board of the City of San Diego and was Chairman of the Cultural and Economic Interchange Committee. Most recently, he was invited to serve on the County of San Diego District Attorney’s Advisory Board.
He is the founder of the Center for East-West Understanding, a non-profit organization that was created with the mission of diminishing extremism and the threat of violence. He is also the CEO of East West Consulting, LLC.
